What keeps it legitimate
The plan is built for more than one person.
Family plans, group plans, anything a service sells with multiple seats. Splitting one of these is just using it the way it was designed. Buying a single-person plan and passing the password around is not the same thing.
The person who owns the plan isn’t profiting from it.
Getting your costs covered by the people sharing with you is normal. Charging them more than the plan costs you and keeping the difference is closer to reselling the service, which most subscription terms prohibit.
People are added the way the service intends.
Most multi-seat plans have a built in way to add someone, usually an invite link or a group invite. If the only way to make it work is handing over your password, the plan probably wasn't meant to be shared.
Where it gets murkier
Some services attach extra conditions to their multi-seat plans, most commonly a requirement that everyone lives at the same address. How strictly that gets enforced varies between services and changes over time, so it's worth reading the current terms of whichever service you're sharing rather than assuming.
How KiwiSubs fits into this
Only plans built for multiple people can be listed. No single-user subscriptions, no free trials. Members are always added through the service's own invite system, never by sharing a password. Hosts verify their identity before they can receive any money.
On the money side, hosts receive exactly one seat's share of what their plan costs, and nothing above it. They can't set their own price or mark a seat up, so hosting recovers costs rather than turning a profit.
KiwiSubs charges its own service fee on top of that, which covers payment processing, refunds, and running the platform.

What KiwiSubs is, and what it isn't
It's a marketplace, not a provider.
KiwiSubs connects someone who already pays for a multi-person plan with people who want a place on it. It doesn't own, operate or control any subscription service, and it isn't affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any of them. Brand names appear on the site only to describe the plans people list.
It doesn't sell you access.
Access comes from the host's own plan, through the service's own invite system. KiwiSubs never holds an account, never issues a login and never passes on a password.
It doesn't process your payment.
Stripe does. KiwiSubs is not a payment processor, and card details are handled by Stripe rather than being received or stored by us.
It isn't a party to the arrangement.
The agreement to share a plan is between the host and the people who join it. KiwiSubs handles the matching and the recurring payment, and will help where it can if something goes wrong, but the plan is the host's.
