The short answer
The cheapest way to get Spotify Premium in New Zealand depends on your situation. Work your way down this list and stop at the first option that applies to you.
You're a student.
Spotify's Student plan costs $10.50 a month for eligible students enrolled at recognised New Zealand institutions. You'll need to verify your enrolment, but if you qualify, this is the cheapest official option.
You have one other person to split with.
Spotify Duo costs $28.99 a month and covers two people living at the same address. Split evenly, that's about $14.49 each. That's cheaper than paying $20.99 a month each for two Individual plans, although the saving isn't huge.
You have a household or flat.
Spotify Family costs $33.99 a month and covers up to 6 people. If all 6 spots are filled, that's about $5.67 each per month. One person pays Spotify for the Family plan and everyone else transfers them their share. If you already live with people who want Spotify Premium, this is generally the cheapest option.
You don't have anyone to split with.
