KiwiSubs is a New Zealand-based subscription-sharing marketplace operating at kiwisubs.nz. We connect people who want to share the cost of streaming and digital subscriptions.
We are committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020 (NZ). When we refer to "we", "us", or "KiwiSubs" in this policy, we mean the operators of kiwisubs.nz.
2. What information we collect
We collect personal information you provide directly to us, including:
- Name and email address: collected when you create an account
- Home address: collected when you create a host listing (required for Spotify Family Plan eligibility)
- Billing information: collected and processed by Stripe when you make or receive payments
- Messages: sent to us via our contact form
- Email address: collected if you sign up for our early access list or subscription waitlist
3. Why we collect it
We collect your personal information to:
- Provide and operate the KiwiSubs marketplace
- Process payments between joiners and hosts
- Send transactional emails about your account and subscriptions
- Respond to your support enquiries
- Notify waitlist and early access signups when spots or plans become available
- Comply with our legal obligations
4. Who we share it with
Besides our staff, we share your information with the following third parties in order to operate the service:
- Stripe: our payment service provider, for processing payments and host payouts
- Resend: our email delivery provider, for sending transactional emails
- Supabase: our cloud database provider, for secure data storage and authentication
Your home address is visible to joiners on your plan only after a join is confirmed. We will not sell or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
5. Providing information
Providing your name, email address, and billing information is required to use KiwiSubs. If you choose not to provide this information, we will be unable to create an account or process payments on your behalf.
6. How we keep it safe
We keep your personal information safe by storing it in a secured cloud database (Supabase) and restricting access to authorised personnel only.

After the applicable period, your information is securely destroyed by permanently deleting all digital records.
8. Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to:
- Access: ask for a copy of any personal information we hold about you
- Correct: ask us to correct information you believe is wrong
- Delete: delete your account and associated data at any time from your account settings
- Complain: lodge a complaint with the Privacy Commissioner if you believe your rights have been breached
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect legal or technical changes. If we make a significant change, we will notify you by email. The latest version will always be available at this page.
